چکیده
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) have been deriving surface particulate matter with a median diameter of 2.5 µm or less (PM2.5) from satellite aerosol optical depth (AOD) over Continental (CONUS) using climatological PM2.5-AOD regression relation. However, because relation can change time, this method large errors when the deviates values. In work, geographically weighted (GWR) model is used to estimate PM2.5 AOD. The parameters are derived dynamically in daily hourly manner measurements AOD satellite. evaluated Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) CONUS, Himawari Taiwan. algorithm performs much better than simple relationships. estimated VIIRS has cross validation (CV) R2 0.59 measured PM2.5, bias 0.09 µg/m3 Root mean square error (RMSE) 5.66 µg/m3. estimates ABI CV 0.44, 0.04 µg/m3, RMSE 4.53 will run near-real-time at NOAA provide air quality community CONUS.

Hourly Global Radiation Prediction from Geostationary Satellite Data
The possibility to generate 2-D predictions of solar radiation one hour ahead and over a large geographic area is the focus of this study. In that view, hourly satellite maps of irradiations extracted from the Heliosat-3 have been used as training data and inputs of artificial neural networks (ANN) and as inputs for apersistence model. These models were computed for each point of the map, allow...
متن کاملA Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression Model for Ground-Level PM2.5 Estimation from Satellite-Derived 500 m Resolution AOD
Regional haze episodes have occurred frequently in eastern China over the past decades. As a critical indicator to evaluate air quality, the mass concentration of ambient fine particulate matters smaller than 2.5 μm in aerodynamic diameter (PM2.5) is involved in many studies. To overcome the limitations of ground measurements on PM2.5 concentration, which is featured in disperse representation ...
متن کاملEstimation of Hourly, Daily and Monthly Global Solar Radiation on Inclined Surfaces: Models Re-Visited
Global solar radiation is generally measured on a horizontal surface, whereas the maximum amount of incident solar radiation is measured on an inclined surface. Over the last decade, a number of models were proposed for predicting solar radiation on inclined surfaces. These models have various scopes; applicability to specific surfaces, the requirement for special measuring equipment, or limita...

Dust is influenced by the interaction of the atmosphere-Earth system and, by changing radiation energy, atmospheric chemistry and physics, affects the climate of an area. Due to the necessity of the role of dust and its spatial-dynamic distribution in the atmosphere of a region, as well as the existence of advanced remote sensing techniques and modeling in the field of dust simulation, the pres...
متن کاملLand Surface Albedo Estimation from Chinese HJ Satellite Data Based on the Direct Estimation Approach
Monitoring surface albedo at medium-to-fine resolution (<100 m) has become increasingly important for medium-to-fine scale applications and coarse-resolution data evaluation. This paper presents a method for estimating surface albedo directly using top-of-atmosphere reflectance. This is the first attempt to derive surface albedo for both snow-free and snow-covered conditions from medium-resolut...
